Collecting Uncirculated $5's
Silver Certificate $5's offer a wide variety of certificates to collect. Unlike their Federal Reserve Note counterparts, Silver Certificates are largely defined by their signature combination and block letters, since there are no districts on these certificates. With the exception of a few rare varieties, most Silver Certificates are relatively easy to collect -- even in higher grades.
There are two main styles of Silver Certificates in small size: The Series of 1934-1934D and the Series of 1953-1953B. Both contain a fairly large number of certificates which are easy to acquire. This is particularly true in the case of the Series of 1953-era certificates, where even replacement certificates are relatively affordable.
THE 1928NOTES.COM COLLECTION
The following certificates are part of the 1928notes.com collection. There are a few parameters for this collection and some exclusions. All certificates in this collection are graded PMG UNC 62 or higher. No certificate has been admitted to this collection which does not have the EPQ designation. Exclusions from this collection include the entire Series of 1934C and 1934D.
For this collection, completion of a set has been defined as the acquisition of all standard certificates surviving in uncirculated grades. Varieties and star certificates are not considered a requisite for completion, but have been admitted as welcomed embellishments. Certificates which are a part of this collection but do not meet the requisite grade and EPQ designation requirements are set against a gray background.

Comments
The Series of 1934 is a short series with seven total certificates. Most of these certificates are relatively easy to acquire, even in higher grades. The star is relatively affordable, while the E-A Block and E-A Block Mule are quite a challenge.
One of the noticable features of this particular series that stands out among $5 Silver Certificates is the brightness of the white paper used. Subsequent series display a more greyish toned paper.

The Series of 1934A, much like the previous series, features a number of really easy certificates to acquire. Some of the mules are tougher in higher grades, including the G-A Mule, H-A Mule, K-A Mule and L-A Mule.
Both of the replacement notes for this series are availible in high grade.
